Moodle in English -> Book mod/book migration to Moodle 2.0 -> Re: mod/book migration to Moodle 2.0

by Jeff Church -

Update to this issue.  I am looking at version 2011011602 of book on a WOS moodle test instance Moodle 2.0.1+ (Build: 20110119).  The new formatting looks great.  The TOC works great even with large pages.  Really like the new management area.

Still running into a backup restore issue.  I made a class with just the one book (2 chapters) and the default news forum.  Made a backup of the class no student data.  Restored it on the same test instance to an existing class deleting the content first.  It gave the following error and removed the teacher/user from the class.

error/decode_rule_incorrect_name

When I went back to the class as admin the book link was there but no chapter data.

Just to keep you up on what I am seeing.  Keep up the awesome work this is a great tool.

I am running the latest version of the book tool (downloaded 12-21-10) on Moodle 2.0 (Build: 20101214).  It looks to be running fine but I did find 2 issues.  First is not that big of a deal.  The Table of Contents is displaying in the middle of the page vertically.  This is not a problem unless you have long pages, then you can’t see the Table of Contents until you scroll down.  The other issue is that books do not backup and restore properly.  The book came across when I did the restore but the content of the book did not.  So in the new course you just get the link to the start of the book but no pages.

Thanks for all of the work you have done on this so far

Moodle in English -> Repositories Moodle 2.0: Reaching with filepicker into google-docs. All downloaded files are damaged. -> Re: Moodle 2.0: Reaching with filepicker into google-docs. All downloaded files are damaged.

Is there any word on this issue?  I am having what sounds like the same problem.  On Mozilla if I download the files I can get the rft files to open but the .ppt and xls files open in powerpoint and excel with errors.  In Internet Explorer I can't get the files to open at all.  My guess is because of its close tie in with those programs.

I am using 'add resource > file' function in Moodl2.0 (Build: 20101214) to add these files to the course.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong here?

Moodle in English -> Repositories flickr repository

by Jeff Church -

I have a test instance of 2.0 up and it looks great so far.  I was playing with the flickr repository and have it working.  My question is about the creation of the API Key and secret.  I got it to work using my personal pro account but when we go into production with this I do not want to use my account to set it up.  What is the best practice for setting up the flicker private repository for a production server?

Thanks
