Hi everyone,

Just to let you know, we're planning to update Moodle Docs to the latest stable version of Mediawiki very soon!

The task of updating Moodle Docs (MDLSITE-34) is quite big, due to all our Mediawiki customisations. Moodle's Knight in shining armour, Eloy, has done an amazing job of applying our customisations to the latest stable version and fixing any problems which have arisen on our Moodle Docs test site.

Before updating the production Moodle Docs, we'd like to test everything once again. Thus, I would be grateful for your help in testing. Simply log in to the Moodle Docs test site with your moodle.org username and password and have a play around. Please report any problems you come across in MDLSITE-441. Thanks! smile

Congratulations, it looks almost exactly the same as before, which I think is a measure of success.

Just one problem I noticed: bug numbers like MDL-12345 are no longer auto-linked to the tracker. E.g. http://docs.moodle.org/test/Development:Question_bank_consistency_check

Eloy is on it. I checked it in Sandbox and the Mdl link worked great.

I looked at my special page I use for handy formats. They all look the same.

I will say away from templates, and those @#$%^&* boxes in Wikipedia that tell me a page needs more citations. As well as other overall appearance things which Helen does such a great job in making sure the site looks clean.

Special pages looks expanded from the older version. I only spent 5 minutes in the test site.

Although I wonder about some standard footer banners to use for things like examples of this concept links.

Yes, there seems to be some new special pages (useful to help maintain consistency) 微笑

Haven't seen problem in my tests...

Is it possible to expand http://docs.moodle.org/test/Special:Withoutinterwiki to find pages without french (as exemple 眨眼 ) interlink ?

It would be good if broken links to other langages pages (:fr:page inexistante) could be shown in a different color (like broken links in the same langage : inexistent page).

I don't know whether the things you mention are possible or not, though I do remember a previous discussion which resulted in some really useful solutions: Is there a way to redirect to an English doc page?

yes, i remember this discussion. If i remember well, there was still one question nobody answered (knows ?)...

I just also want to say that from 28 to 30 may 2008, I'm at the french MoodleMoot, and i will show/explain (29 may) to everybody there how to use it, and contribute. Please avoid to change the production Moodle Docs version these days 眨眼
