Theme missing from theme selector

Theme missing from theme selector

Hi, I have a Moodle installation of 1.8 and we're moving it to a new server.

As part of the move it is getting upgraded to Moodle 1.9.

Data is all over on the new server, as is the database. I logged on and my theme has gone - reverting back to default.

I checked the server, via FTP, and can see the files for my custom theme are all there. But when I go into the theme selector the new theme does not display in the list of possible themes.

Am I going to have to re-create my theme from a 1.9 starting point? Or should my theme show up as it did before?

I saw http://docs.moodle.org/en/Themes and http://docs.moodle.org/en/Creating_a_custom_theme but neither suggests that the themes from 1.8 won't work on 1.9

I checked the server CHMOD via FTP and it shows 755 for the folder and 644 for the files both for my modified theme and the Chameleon theme and Standardwhite.

Any ideas to try, please?

Thanks.

I found the answer. Doh!

Server admins gave me FTP access to upload files and web access to view Moodle. What they didn't tell me was that FTP was going to a different directory that had a copy of the moodle data in it... so when I thought I was updating themes or moodledata I was in fact just updating a copy that wasn't in use.

Of course... once I moved the theme folder into the right place (and the data into the right place too) it all worked. 微笑

Phew.
