Hello all!
I need to have an HTML block as "centerpiece" in my frontpage. Yet moodle 1.8 gives me options to have News, Cources, Categories or Combi and all blocks are appearing left or right. How can I put my own material in the large central part?
many thanks!
Nikos
If you log in as an administrator, go to the Front Page entry in the Site Administration list.
Then, open Front Page Settings. The third item after the description is a setting called Include a Topic Section. Put a check in the checkbox.
Now you will have the ability to put a nice HTML page on your home page.
Thanx, Katherine - one more question ..
Where do you edit/make this html page? - Do I add a block, or something?
R.

Tom,
Once you've added the topic section, 'turn editing on' on the frontpage and you should see the topic section with an edit icon in the bottom left hand corner (Of the topic section box). Click this and edit away.

thanx a lot, Alistair - but it don't seem to work...It only shows as a small block on the frontpage(before you login), and I can only show it on the right or left side of the page....I use Moodle 1.8....

Finally worked - I just had to go back to the frontpage to find the right edit-button
