Comments in the Glossary

Comments in the Glossary

I'm beginning to use the glossary tool and I like the comments feature in this. I am a bit confused as to where the comments sit within Moodle as once a comment is added to a glossary item, the only way back to the glossary using the breadcrumb trail is to go back to course home page and then navigating back to the glossary, this seems daft to me (see attachment). If I use the back button the comment will not appear unless the page is refreshed, so that is another potentially confusing/irritating issue.

Is this because of the way moodle is set up for me? Is it because there is a kind of store for comments and I just don't know where find it? and finally, why does the link to the glossary dissappear when I am adding an item into it?

It just seems really weird that I can comment on a glossary item, but cannot then return to the main glossary from the comment page.

any help with this appreciated.

Hi Tina,

I've just tried adding a comment to the learner defined glossary in the Features Demo course and been able to return to the glossary via a link in the navigation bar/breadcrumb trail.

Just wondering whether your problem is caused by the hideactivitytypenavlink setting in Administration > Appearance > Themes > Theme settings?

Thanks very much.

I have an externally hosted moodle, so I can't see the hideactivitytyp.... thing, I'll have a word with my host.

I too have had this problem and can't quite work out what file I need to adapt.

It is not dependant on the them so i assume it is something within the glossary module files.

Can anyone help?
