Dear All
For the first time in my life I've found myself telling someone that moodle 1.9 will be ready 'Any day now'. We're desperate to get hold of the new gradebook for a production server, so I don't want to install a beta release, but they're asking when 'any day now' is likely to be. Without wishing to appear ungratefully demanding, can anyone help me work out a clearer idea of what date the next stable release is going to be? I know that bugs need to be fixed and that I could become involved in this to help speed things up, and of course time spent responding to this is time not spent on getting 1.9 ready!
Thanks
David Willington
Hi,
I don't think anybody will be able to answer your question with a date.
As explained in the development overview, new versions are released only when all blocking bugs are resolved. You can see what is still to solve before Moodle 1.9 can be released.
And, as you say, if you can test on copies of your site, it will help...
