Notice: I originally posted this in the Messaging forum, but I think this is more of a developer question.

Can anyone tell me if the work Luis Rodrigues is doing on the messaging system is planned to be included in Moodle 1.9? If so, I think it should be on the Roadmap as it appears to be a major upgrade. I'm excited to take a look at it and see what it can do. We need to make a few tweaks to the Messaging system for this fall and I would like to know if we should proceed with the current version or wait.

Yes, the move to using Events to pipe all mail through one system and the ability to decide how to redirect messages based on plugins will almost certainly be in 1.9. The new YUI-based interface may not, we'll see.
