Susan Patrick (former Director of Educational Technology at the US Dept of ED, and she held this post during the time of the study) responded during a Bb Educational Leadership Forum on May 16th, “The study also found that products caused teachers to be less likely to lecture and more likely to facilitate, while students using reading or mathematics software products were more likely to be working on their own.” Patrick’s response was amplified by Debra Sprague, from the Graduate School of Education, George Mason University. The key to successful use of eLearning depends upon learning how to use the software in learning, not just how to navigate the software.
