Dear All,

I was wondering if anybody has tried this and whether or not it is any use. The pricing system is complex, to put it mildly.

WebTExpress

Best regards,

WBTExpress is an interesting tools that works good with moodle. The free version is a little bit slow. The actual version has additional features .

What does it do exactly? I went to their web page and it is not very informative. The only thing that is clear is that you can use it to generate SCORM packages but other than that one can't tell why would it be useful to try it out.

Josep, its a SCORM Authoring System. In difference to eXeLearning it creates real SCORM.
eXeLearning is a great and easy to use tool for content production, but its limited in relation to integrated quiz and SCORM.
WebExpress has more tools, but its not as easy to use.

A real question is, why shall we use an authoring system. A Moodle course room is also an authoring system. We are consulting companies and schools and other education institutions. Lots of them are searching authoring tools for content creation and integration in Moodle.

Long time I had the wish and the hope that the lesson module will be developed more in direction of an authoring system. But the development stopps.

So its realistic to look also on authoring systems. This will change if we have more acceptance in "Learning Design". But thats a long time development and I know Moodle 2.0 can be a great step forward in this direction.

Thanks Ralf for your informative response. Actually, I also share your feelings about the Lesson module. It is a real pity that its development has sort of stopped for a few improvements on it would make it a much better tool than it is already.
