This is a demo video I created last year for the integration project with Alaska Pacific University:

It's about 10 megs, so it may take a while before the demo starts

Hi, Mahir - where is the integration code? I'd love to have a look at it.

Hi Martin,

This was a custom project for APU, and although I wrote the part of the code that updated the mysql tables moodle uses (I had to install moodle on my own and figure out what happened when I added someone, added a course, etc) by looking at before and after values in the tables.)  However there is also code for Colleague and other Java code that I didn't write.  I don't even own the part I wrote.  In fact, I might get in trouble if my boss finds this out Mamatheka

Go APU!

My wife did her undergraduate degree at APU, and both of her parents got their master's degrees there. Nice school.

Although, based on Mahir's comment it seems they aren't interested in contributing back to open source projects that they use ...

Actually, it sounds like Mahir's company did some contract work for them and his company retained ownership of the code.

Mahir, is that correct?

Has anyone sorted out the integration between Datatel/Colleague and Moodle?

Lis-
Our school, CPCC is a colleague school, as are the rest of the community colleges in north carolina, USA. Several schools have gone moodle only, and ours runs moodle and BB in parallel. I know our enrollments are automatically put into moodle daily (or several times daily) though the classes are created manually - i suspect much is home grown.

Shoot a note to adam dot garside at cpcc dot edu and tell him D.I. sent you. Ultimately it'll be a statewide thing.

But with regards to the sharing discussion, datatel claims we're not even allowed to show screenshots of their app in public tutorials as they represent intellectual property. Typical junk for junk software, but that's another story.

I suspect we're doing the work ourself, and can't see why we wouldn't want to share it - though it's probably a mix of technologies.
