Thanks for pointing me to that discussion but I'm afraid it doesn't help. Maybe it's something to do with 1.7.
As a student, if I "cut and paste" the image, I can see the image in edit mode, but not in normal mode. IE shows a placeholder, Firefox 2, nothing.
If I fill in the URL in the pop-up box what then shows is the alt text, not the image itself. This works correctly if I'm in "teacher" mode.
I've passed your information on to our Administrator who may find a solution.
I have questions about a couple of things that puzzle me:
Why are students not allowed to upload files from their hard disks?
Why is Wetpaint so easy to use and the wiki's in Moodle so much more difficult? (I'm not criticising - I'm sure there must be a good reason
