There are several solutions for the different steps:
first step, distribute the individual assignment:
- option one: YOU DECIDE which student gets which task: send them the assignment by email.
- option two: Publish all the assignments in one big PDF and combine this with a choice-module with limit=1 and let students choose which assignment they wish: first one first choice, let them move!!
second step:
- option one: create a set of two assignments:
- first assignment is for uploading the choosen/assigned assignment
- second assignement is for the real assignment
- option two (depending of the kind of assignment) create a wiki for groups and every student is a group on his own
