I have taught students, managed tutors and disseminated good practice amongst other managers. Doesn't matter which group you are talking about, there are always early adopters who will be ahead of you, a mid group who will react helpfully after prodding and a group of laggards who expect all things to be delivered to them on a golden plate exactly in a form best for them. If not they will moan.
Not actively seeking out the latest developments of your craft is unproffessional period. Getting cranky about others being unproffessional is just a recipe for an ucler, being English I'd just tut gently to myself and get on with something else....
