Elgg Templates

Hi all,

I am new to Elgg and need to some help and I thought that as Moodle is able to be intergrated with Elgg, there must be some Elgg experts here.

I have two things that I would like to do and I hope someone can help me out.

1. I would like to change the text at the top "Personal Learning Landscape"

2. I would like to force a template for all users and visitors.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Martin,
I use elgg.net but am not an expert. I wasn't sure if you were talking about elgg/moodle integration (about which I know nothing). If it's customising your blog, then do this
1. Choose account settings (top rh of your page)
2. Click Change theme.
3. Look for theme that you like then Click create theme to make your personal theme that you can edit.
You can do quite a lot of fancy things with this but adding a picture and customising the text makes quite an impact.

Hi Frances.

My refrence to the Elgg/Moodle integration was me thinking that these forums are a good place to ask about Elgg. Dont worry wink

For the latest version of Elgg there is a new default template. I would prefer to use the older template instead. How can I set it so users dont have a choice and are forced to use the older one. ( Including visitors to the site )

I also wanted to change the text at the top of the page under the site title.

Thanks for any help that anyone can give.

I'm also *very* new to the Moodle-Elgg integration, but did manage to change the text under the title by editing the contents of the

tags near the top of:

/elgg/_templates/Default_Template/pageshell

Not sure how general this is, but will hopefully give you enough clues to tweak your own setup.

I'm also not sure how to restrict the available themes. However, I think I have read somewhere (sorry can't find link) that the soon-to-be released Elgg 0.7 will have improved theme management (I'm currently using Elgg 0.651 from Eduforge). I suspect Elgg.net may already be using a newer version.

Happy to continue talking Elgg here in the 'Lounge'.

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for your help. My Elgg site is slowly being pushed down my todo list by a tone of coursework. I will bookmark this topic and hopefully get round to it in the next few weeks.

Thanks all for your help,

Cheers
Martin
