I can't add comments to the bug tracker

Is it just me or is Jira giving "A system error has occurred" to you too when trying to add a comment on a bug.

I tried to comment on a bug I reported today (MDL-6641), but got a Java stack trace starting
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Custom field with id 'customfield_10012' does not exist.

I wanted to say that the /lib/setup.php reads $lang from optional_param('lang', PARAM_SAFEDIR and then sets this to the $SESSION->lang which makes the language edits a bit too sticky from course edit and profile edit forms. (added this text here as I'll forget it after "Post to forum" as usually evil )

I guess this is a "me too" message. I noticed there is a javascript error in the (Firefox) javascript console when I click in the "comment" link:

Error: document.getElementById("comment") has no properties

and there is no comment box, so when you press "Add" button Jira generats the Java stack trace. I have just tried using IE 6.0 and I get the same results... :-?

Saludos. Iñaki.

The best place to react to things like this is in the tracker (MDLSITE-40)

You're joking Martin, aren't you? If they can't add comments to the tracker how are they supposed to react there?

Obviously if the tracker is completely stuffed then you'd have to post here. དགའ་འཛུམ་

But in general let's please all get into the habit for filing bugs (as Robert did for this issue, thanks Robert) instead of clogging up this forum with lots of chat and me-toos about short-term transient errors in moodle.org sites or Moodle code.

That's exactly what the tracker is good at and why it's there.

Ah yes... sorry about that. Learning something every day, also forgetting a lot every day I'm sure. I had the impression that the moodle.org-bugs are for content issues and/or "funny" stuff at http://moodle.org, but I see it's "sites" as in plural.
