Hi folks,

I am trying to implement Multi factor authentication using SMS (OTP based) but there is only AWS provider in the drop down menu.
I wanted to know if there is any way where I can use my own SMS gateway instead of the given AWS provider. I don't want to use AWS.

Note: Currently using Moodle 4.4.2 in a local environment for testing purposes and actually using 4.1.6(LTS) where I have heard that you need MFA plugin to be installed externally.

Solutions and workarounds would be highly appreciated.

Hello,

If you're able to use a more recent version of Moodle, you can make use of the new plugin type SMS gateways in Moodle 4.5. The Modica SMS gateway plugin is included in Moodle 5.0 (MDL-79329).
