Adaptive Learning Quizzes

Are there any plans to incorporate adaptive learning in Moodle? We have been using Cerego via LTI for a while which was great for adaptive learning where the instructor sets the retention level and students keep practicing until the desired level is reached. Typically, it would take the students up to 10 days of practicing to reach level 2 which was remembering something from weeks to months. Unfortunately Cerego is no longer supporting Moodle 1.3 integration with Moodle now necessitating options....

If there are no such plans, what is your institution using for adaptive learning?

That is is a step in the right direction but not quite what I am looking for. The idea is to have something where even though the student scored 100% on the first try, how can we create a mechanism where the student is going to remember it 10 days from now or 30 days from now. I am looking for a mechanism where the system determines what the user is starting to forget and then prompt them to practice. That is what the system we have been using does.

I've tried to look at their support documentation and its a bit of a mess. It appears they do LTI 1.3 with Blackboard, Canvas, D2L and Moodle but there are various pages missing or inaccessible. I found this youtube video published by someone else from about 2 weeks ago as well Has their support stated they are dropping LTI 1.3 support for Moodle?

That is the video I had made thinking it was all working. One can integrate the activity in a Moodle course by selecting/adding it, the student automatically accessing the module and completing the work but the grade sync is not working.

At one point https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_qpractice was a thing, but it has not been maintained.

I don't know Cerego specifically, but an activity to encourage student practice up to a desired level would be a gread Moodle plugin to create, and probably quite a feasible one to make building on top of Moodle question bank and question types.

It would make Moodle a lot more effective particularly in today's age where a student can get any type of answer instantly using AI. Repetition and practice could help make learning a bit more effective.

I am the (non) maintainer of mod_qpractice, and I had thought about mentioning it in this thread. Bringing it up to date is just a matter of developer time, but that time is probably measured in at least some weeks and I have been doing other things. I have been back to experiment with it
https://github.com/marcusgreen/moodle-mod_qpractice/tree/bycategory_working and made a commit about a year ago.
Which was code to allow the selection of questions by categories and I think that branch works with much later versions of Moodle.

I would be very supportive of anyone who would like to work on it, or anyone with funding to pay for its development via my employer Moodle partners Catalyst-eu. This plugin, like Student-Quiz fits very well into the core concepts of Moodle.

Sali mentions the use of AI, and one of the things that has distracted me from qpractice is working on my AI Text question type which has got a lot of interest from a lot of places and that has been occupying my time. I can imagine incorporating AI features into qpractice, but I have more imagination than time to turn the ideas into good code.

One day I hope to retire so i can spend more time with Moodle sorriso
