Seeking Advice on Integrating CortexJS MathLive with Moodle for Algebraic Formula Input in STACK Plugin

Hello Moodle Community,

I'm currently working on enhancing the algebraic formula input capabilities in our Moodle environment, specifically within the STACK plugin. I've come across CortexJS MathLive, which seems to offer a robust virtual keyboard for algebraic formula input. However, since CortexJS is not a regular Moodle plugin and requires the addition of JavaScript, I'm uncertain about the best way to integrate it.

Has anyone here successfully installed CortexJS MathLive in Moodle? If so, could you share your experience and any tips on the integration process?

Alternatively, if you know of other plugins or solutions that provide similar functionality for algebraic formulas in the STACK plugin, I would greatly appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Graz

Graz,

Thanks for your interest in STACK.

Many years ago we developed the "DragMath" Java applet, but support for that has ended.  It would be great to improve the user interface to STACK with a graphical option. I've not looked at CortexJS in detail though.

Since STACK is integrated into Moodle and ILIAS (and we have a recent stand-alone API) we also have a discussion forum here: https://stack-assessment.zulipchat.com/#

It's likely someone else has looked at this, and they may have integrated it (and not told anyone!) or rejected it for good reasons.  Perhaps you could raise the issue on zulip as well?

Chris
