My institution has recently adopted Moodle for our LMS and I have a question when it comes to custom reports. We gather data based upon our participants and instructors (learning hours/department/ job role) but I don't find anyway to run a custom report that pulls by assigned role within a course. E.g. If we want to see how many instructors we had from a certain department in a quarter, the report pulls both instructors and participants in one report and we need to manually sort out who is who.
I'm wondering if there is a plugin that would be able to pull this data or a code filter we are just missing?

For existing reports, you could add the "Role > Role name" condition:

I have tried to create a report that brings me the ROLE information but in the conditions I don't see the option ROLE-ROLE NAME, do you know how I should do to be able to bring that record.
Our version of MOODLE is 4.1.11.
