This week I hit a bug or usability dysfunction which took me hours to find …
When groups are set with "Show group in dropdown menu for activities in group mode" unticked.
Red notifications are displayed with "... some users are either not a member of any group, or are a member of more than one group."
and when "Require group to make submission" = NO
On the student side, even more frustrating ... :
It was not easy to find as one cannot edit the group settings when the group is not empty.
Now
though the idea that students cannot submit group assignements if they
are unaware of their group composition can make sense, an appropriate
feedback notification should be favored.
I am puzzled also with the meaning of the "Show group in dropdown menu for activities in group mode" checkbox in group settings.
