You can use our "Vitrina" block: https://github.com/bambuco/moodle-block_vitrina/. It is open source but not yet published in the community plugin repository. We use it on some platforms such as: https://fycolearning.com/blocks/vitrina/

In this block you can filter by the custom course fields, all of which are configurable.
