Are you adventureous? Come to Heidelberg, Germany for one year and teach at a German school - don't worry...you don't have to teach German but English.

We exchange posts and the best thing is that we receive our salaries as usual while teaching aboard. You and me can swap flats / accommodation for one year.

Have a look at the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program

I hope it's not too late to apply for 2007 / 2008.

Thanks, Art! By the way how do I get to know if Business College teachers want to swap, too?

Ah, Ich hab' mein Herz in Heidelberg verlohren!

All you US teachers who are unfamiliar with this small German town, I can heartily recommend it. It is an old university town, with a beautiful medieval city center, situated on a river (with a picturesque old bridge) overlooked by a partially ruined castle. The immediate surroundings contain more pretty villages and castles and vineyards that produce crisp tasty wines. Believe me, there are worse places to spend a year (like Cleveland?).

Thanks, Paul, for supporting my quest. It's a really good description of Heidelberg. Unfortunately, I have to hand in my application by the end of June, so that I won't have much time left to look for someone to swap with. However, I can apply anyway. Then someone is assigned to swap with me.

Kind regards,

Ina
