Hi everybody,

in big courses the report "Activity completion" (report_progress) is really confusing. You need a lot of horizontal scrolling and you can't keep up with the participant names. The filtering options only include filtering by activity type. Our teachers often request filtering by section. I'd suggest adding this option and wrote a patch (MDL-73503) implementing it. We use this patch already on our instance in production for about a year now.

I think it is a good idea except it is suitable just for extensive courses, but for small courses ( the majority) they will be fine. I created a SQL code before for a big course to report the completion percentage by section as each section in that course was kind of a small module or course. So we reported the completion progress in each section, and the facilitators were so delighted, that was for the admin level.
