Hi
This is my first time using and Apple notebook (Macbookpro)
I am trying to install the Moodle4OSX-installer-latest-15.dmg
At the time is running, just the MySQL server is running, but the APACHE doesn´t work, on the pannel control says STOPPED.
I tried to change just the Apache`s port but still didn´t work.
Then you receive a message like this:
"Apple Script Error
NS ReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4(1)"
Please, Does anybody know the solution
Hola
"Apple Script Error
NS ReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4(1)"
Por favor, alguien conoce la soluciòn
Muchas gracias, thanks,
Carlos
Sorry Carlos, I do not have a MacBook pro to test with. IF you would like to send you rs t o me for say, a month, I could work on it. But seriously, folks, I don't know what the problem is as I cannot test it at the moment. Sorry. Perhaps you could try downloading XAMPP 0.5 from apachefriends.org and following their directions to run it? If that does not work then it's XAMPP at fault, if it does then it's my AppleScript I guess.
Hello Daryl, thanks for your reply
I tried using the XAMPP from apache friends, it has the same problems trying to run the Apache server, MySQL works.
Then, I started the Apache 1.3 (comes within the OSX) and install just the SQL and PHP and it seems that it would work.
Thanks again

Hey all,
I have a Mac mini (Mac OS X 10.4.6) and I recently tried to install MySQL and it worked. I activated Apache and it worked as well. When I tried to install PHP (either version 4 or version 5) and try to start Apache with it, Apache tells me that I it cannot activate the PHP module (unknown error).
I have read somewhere that this is due to the fact that Apple, as of version 10.4.4 has changed the location of MySQL (no longer in "/usr" but in "/usr/local") and the location of the MySQL sock.
There even exists a description how to download the source code for PHP and compile it again with the changed parameters (location of MySQL). Unfortunately, with me, none of this has helped to date.
Anybody have an idea?

Dear Florian
Try to use the MAMP
http://www.webedition.de/en/serviceCenter/download/mamp.php
is made for universal OSX
I had some problems making the SQL database, but it works, it easier to install with this program
