Generally, I aim to let the users see their completed courses from the previous platform as well as serve as documentation for their historical activities. The course data that I have does not have the activities since they are only a list of the courses and basic metadata so I think that Data Import Course will not be needed. I am also leaning towards a separate database for the data however I cannot find a clear way to connect it simultaneously with the connected moodle database. The closest concern I found was this link which mentioned programming to be a solution:
