at my school they want to migrate from Active Directory to OpenLDAP. Problem is: Management wants to change usernames during that migration. As to my understanding Moodle does identify users via their username but not their uuid.
So - if we migrate to openLDAP the uuids will stay the same. So identifying using uuids would be no problem. But management wants to change usernames. Moodle uses the username as an identifier. How can I prevent losing the binding between moodle-account and ldap-identity?
Can I sync the uuids now and make them the identifying trait?
