It would be great if we could get more insight to the course setup, but from the information supplied I have one suggestion/investigation point.
If you have the same role, nothing changed and both of the activities are in one course, then I can only see that it is to do with the groups in the course. Perhaps visible groups and you are not in that group who attempted that quiz?
It will require more information and investigation to be of assistance.
