Adaptable theme does not show coloured task buttons anymore

Unfortunately, our Moodle does not show those red/yellow/green info buttons below assignments anymore. 
They used to show the due date of an assignment and indicated whether a user had already submitted any work.

Any way to get them back? We have not changed any settings, but it may be connected to the Moodle update... Sometimes they still pop up in editing mode, but they are never visible to any students.

Any help is much appreciated!

See attachment. Those buttons are right below the assignments´ titles.

Moodle: 3.9
Adaptable: 1610106922 (does that make sense?)

While I am at it:
If I ever manage to get them back with your help... how do I change the language of those buttons?  :D

Adaptable version '1610106922' does not make sense to me. What's the contents of the theme's version.php file please?

Any way to find this in the admin settings on Moodle?
I only have restricted access to Moodle + no FTP login credentials.

Site administration -> Plugins -> Plugins overview - click on 'Additional plugins'.  As stated at the top of the forum (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=46).

Ok, I don't know why. Do you have any custom CSS that could affect it? Are the activities actually visible etc?  What course format are you using?
