For your Lesson activity you need to select the SCORM package option. This will require you to upload your SCORM file.

Thanks Shirley, I've done that already and created the link within the LA to the SCORM activity which works lovely, enabling the LA just to be a wee bit more interactive but the problem arises when the student finishes the SCORM file and the hyperlink tries to jump back from the SCORM file to an exact page within the LA, it just won't work, unfortunately and I wondered if Moodle doesn't permit students to do this?

If the objective is returning to the lesson to review content but not retry things (questions, branches), maybe you (also) put the content in a (hidden) book and link to the relevant page. I suspect lesson is antagonistic to people jumping in outside of standard navigation.
