The sharingcart plugin is interesting; and includes functionality that Moodle lacks that would be nice to include in the core. So, great suggestion, I will look into how this plugin works, as it may save my team some leg-work.
As for the block catalogue, not sure that's right for us, but will investigate further if there's any potential.
I do really like H5P and have been using it for a long time, both embedded and within Moodle as activities - The short code filter is also very useful when wanting to display H5P activities in other area/activities.
