Hello,

We are planning to use Poodll and we are specially interested in automatic phonetic correction which is a great feature.

I understand the technology is based on Amazon software and data are stoured in the cloud. Can you tell me if this data (students voices) is acced by third parties, Amazon for instance, where the servers are (ie under what laws) /what kind of privacy policiy is applied?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Ulrike

The data that is sent and stored on Amazon is just voice data. Usernames, email addresses and even the Moodle userid are not stored there.
You have a choice of servers, Tokyo, USA (north east), Sydney, Dublin. If you use the Dublin server then it is the EU and GDPR applies.

Poodll has a privacy policy, here: https://support.poodll.com/en/support/solutions/articles/19000079274-poodll-user-data-and-gdpr
Note also that Poodll supports the Moodle Privacy API so you can manage your requirements using that.

I hope that helps
