Hi Moodler, 

I am using totara version 11. 

We get a request to change default custom field multi select icon but I have no idea how to do it, if anyone have any idea ,please share here.


I know we change the course icon by replacing the new icon image with same name(core/pix/courseicon) and also can upload new icon through UI interface, but I would like to change default icon of course and default icon of custom multi-select field with customer icons by default . However what I have notice both course and multi select icon is  default.png so its is picking up the same image default.png. 

I have also tried to replace icon in totara/customfield/multiselect in define.class.php and field.class.php but its not working to pick up another default image.


Note: Both course and mutli-select default icon is different.

I have explore totara community already thus I have tried to get some help from moodle, because the solution fundamental are same.

Hi Rahul,

It's partly true that Totara is built on a common foundation, but this commercial platform is actually a fork of the Moodle project, with a lot of fundamental changes to core code. Any tips pointing you in some or other direction may end up breaking your installation, as the knowledge in this community will be limited as far as the Totara code goes. 

A general hint however would be to inspect the element on that page, find the corresponding element URL in the inspection panel and work your way back to the component it's loaded from. 

If I'm correct, your Totara instance will be facilitated by a Totara certified partner or something similar, so you're bound to find assistance there as well.
