And just food for thought, what is the significance of the midnight or near midnight submissions? My own institution encourages submission during working hours where practical. Why? Because when assessment is involved students can experience a high level of anxiety should anything go wrong with the submission process. For this reason we encourage submission times whilst service and support is available (we don't have follow the sun support). If staff are unlikely to be checking a paper at that time, then there is little harm in allowing a few more hours. After all, most submission times are arbitrary.
