Yes there is, a well established process called Course meta link. The idea is that you have one course full of materials, activities, resources and everything else, but no students, a parent course. This course is linked to a number of child courses that have students but no course materials. The big advantage here is that everyone can work on the course materials, the parent course, to present the best possible content for students.
