After installing Poodll filter, recorder and repository, the repository plugin is not activated, and I do not know how to activate it. What can be done to do that?

Its not really clear what "not activated" means.

Generally after installation you need to visit the "manage repositories" page and enable it.

Then from the repositories settings page, you can create repository instances. Each instance would use a separate type of recorder (eg audio or video)

See here for more info:

Sorry to say that your answer did not tell me much..

It is the PoodLL Record Audio plugin which shows "Disabled", and I cannot find any way to enable it.

In the PoodLL Repository the setting for PoodLL audo recorder shows "Show the audo player selection screen after recording" That does not obiously mean that the plugin is activated.

None of the PoodLL plugins is shown in the Manage Assignment submission plugins in the Submissions plugins in the Activity modules.

In the Manage repositories option of the Repositories the setting for PoodLL plugin shows "Enable and visible".
But that is not the case in the Manage assigment submission plugins, where the PoodLL plugins is missing.

What shal I do??

I think that we are talking about several different plugins here. And its possibly the source of confusion here.

All of the plugins do rely on the Poodll filter plugin. It should not be possible to install them without that. So its pretty certain that is installed.

If you can see the Poodll repository, and it reports "enabled and visible", then the Poodll repository plugin is installed and enabled.

The Poodll audio recorder repository is an instance of the Poodll repository. It seems to be set up because you can see the "show the audio player selection screen" menu. So that is all good.

The next question then is, where are you seeing "Disabled?"

The Poodll repository plugin is not really related to the Poodll Assignment submission or feedback plugins. I think its a distraction, that is not actually relevant here. If the Poodll assignment plugins are not visible in the admin settings, then its likely that they simply have not been installed. Can you confirm that they are installed?

Are you using Poodll3? If so it should be possible to export a support info file from:
site admin -> plugins -> filters -> poodll -> support info

If you can do that, then send that in to me via : https://poodll.com/contact

Then I should have more information that I can use to help you.

par Skule Sormo,

It was the Poodll respository which was missing and not installed. PoodLL   works after installlation of that.

BUT: the Flash player doesn't work with Chrome and Opera. It works with Firefox, Internet Explorer and Edge.  The Adobe Flash Player Settings appear all time when a recording is about to be done, and that is unnessesary. In addition, PoodLL  and Flash Player doesn't work with Android phones either.

So, thank your for the support!

if you are on https and Poodll3 then you should be able to use the html5 players.

Flash is still needed in some places . notably IE and video recording on Edge and Desktop Safari. But its best to use https and encourage users to use browsers that support html5 recording (Chrome and Firefox .. basically) .

Note also that Firefox and Chrome are blocking webcam/mic access to non https sites , even if you have enabled Flash.

If you really need Flash , and it is not available on Chrome or another browser, you should just be able to enable it. For Android there is a setting in the Poodll filter settings to use Android on Flash.

Flash will remember your permissions setting if you check the little "remember" checkbox. Right click the recorder and choose "properties" or "settings" to get a mic/webcam permissions dialog with the remember checkbox.

Recommendations for students

par Debbie Seaver,

Justin

Would it be safe to recommend to students to use a laptop with Chrome or Firefox?

Which recorders would you recommend?

Do you have advice for student who want to use their cell ? Can they record with Moodle Mobile?

Sorry for all the questions but you sound like you have quite a bit experience with Poodll.

Hi Debbie

Sorry to be a little late to this thread. Yes Poodll is quite safe to use with Chrome or Firefox.

In Poodll there are several recorders. The 123 and BMR (Burnt Rose) are probably the best. You can try it out at https://demo.poodll.com

Moodle Mobile is not supported yet ... but with any luck we can do that soon. But the mobile browser works well for audio and video on Android. Audio for iphone.

I suppose nobody has more experience with Poodll than me ... thats because I am the Poodll guy. (I get all the credit and all the blame. )
