How can I change the login screen from:
to:
Moodle : Moodle 3.3.1 (Build: 20170710)
Theme : Boost (version : 2017051500)
I would like the welcome text on the left and log in on the right.
Is it possible?
Hi Abhishek,
Swapping the sides could be done by changing /theme/boost/templates/login.mustache. The username to eMail is probably down to editing the language strings through the core UI - you'll need to look that up along the lines of 'Site administration -> Language'.
Gareth
You need to read this document as there is a setting that allows you to use email address to login.
https://docs.moodle.org/33/en/Managing_authentication
hope this helps?
cheers
Mary
Thanks Gareth and Mary. I will try the solution suggested.
Hi Gareth,
I have opened the login.mustache, but how do i change it?
Also, whenever I am trying to add some text on login page, it's being placed at the bottom. I want it on the side.
And how do i remove the text - Is this your first time here text?
The text is probably in the core setting 'auth_instructions'. To change the layout edit or override '/theme/boost/templates/login.mustache'.
Hi Gareth,
I have located and opened the login.mustache file, but how do i change the layout? there are lines of codes. which line should i edit?
Hi Abhishek,
You can use the tweaked version of the Boost login.mustache file attached
1. rename the existing login.mustache file located in /theme/boost/templates/core and replace it with the attached.
2. Change the following three language strings in Site Administration>Language>Language customisation:
String: rememberusername
Local customisation: Remember email address
String. forgotten
Local customisation: Forgotten your password?
String: usernameemail
Local customisation: Email
This is a hack and doesn´t employ best practice in terms of the text that is added but it should get you to where you want to be.
All the best,
Joe
Thanks Joe. I truly appreciate your help.
