Interactive touch screens or Moodle

Hi All

I am currently working on a project for a school in which we are implementing Moodle or all grades. We are looking to build a solution for early learners ( ages 5 to 12) which offers a less adult structure that the current Moodle offering. An example of what we are trying to achieve is to display a classroom image, which contains clickable areas taking the learner to book, games, videos, quizzes, etc etc.

I have been researching this and have found solutions at https://www.sloodle.org/ however this seems to be quite bandwidth heavy and the school is in a remote region.

Does anyone know of any skins or templates that can offer a simple interactive solutions which also integrates with Moodle to track the learners progress ? I look forward to your replies.

Hi Neil,

One solution I've seen is to manually create the graphics and links to courses, activities, and resources on Moodle course pages (including Moodle's front page).

However, that'd more than likely be a lot of work and, since the links are manually inserted, they'd be easily broken if anything changes in your courses.

Perhaps a better solution would to be find a suitable Moodle course format? https://moodle.org/plugins/?q=type:format e.g. Grid format: https://moodle.org/plugins/format_grid

I hope this helps! smile

Thank you Matt

Our client is quite particular in having a specific interactive image for the page, I will try the Grid route, however i think the HTML route will have to be the way to go.

Might be a good plugin to build for early learners if any programmers out there are looking for a new project smile

Cheers
