Moodle on AWS - SSL

Hi, we're merging 5 institutes to one Moodle installation.

For now, let's say about 2 000 users, but may grow quickly to 10 000 and later on to 40 000.

Anybody here who whishes to share setup, best practices, tips?

We also need SSL and we're looking at AWS or OpenStack. Load balancing is a must, scalable also. Fast video playback. Server monitoring and secure backup also. And we need to run our own Xerte server and a small test installation would also be nice.

Lots or requirements smile And not a big budget.

Not sure how your budget is going to do with all those requirements like load balancing and since you say backups I am assume you want failover as well.

I highly recommend using a video streaming server for videos and not host them directly on your Moodle web servers. Since you are already considering outsourcing, Brigthcove is pretty darn good especially if you have international users.
