Spinning wheel of doom

Greetings Justin,

I am just wondering why, when I record a video via web cam, why this happens upon stopping the recording? Using the very latest version of PoodLL 3 with a valid license, Moodle 3.1.

The uploading wheel spins indefinitely – even after 15 mins it is still there. I also use my own Red5 server which is working correctly. I have restarted it and tried again and again. This also happens when I use the default Tokyo server. Note that this is a 6-second video, it shouldn't take longer than a minute tops should it?

Upon either 'insert' or 'cancel' (clicking the X), nothing happens, nothing is embedded on the page.

What could the problem be?

The title of this post made me think that Maleficent would be around here somewhere.

I just can't tell from here what causes the issue, because it depends on your settings. The two most likely causes are:

i) You have not selected "cloud recording" and hence your PoodLL is trying to convert to MP4 on the Red5 server. While that is still possible, it is just too inefficient and doesn't produce the best MP4 files.

ii) There is a permissions or timeout error at poodllfilelib.php.

The best thing is if you can export a copy of the support info csv file from :

site admin -> plugins -> filters -> poodll -> support info and submit it to me at :

https://poodll.com/contact

That gives me all the tech info I need about your server, so we do not have to play email/forum ping pong.

Going forward, we now have a helpdesk so that we can track of these support requests. So if you are on PoodLL 3 its best to post support requests via the contact page. I do check the forums, but I won't respond as quickly here.
