But I don't like Martin's semi-exasperated, formal- gown-look as a photo.
I guess it is just a rush on the virtual presses, but the link to the newsletter crashes my browser.
Moodle symbol or not, my vote would go to the old hatless avatar too.
And the newsletter is very attractive and informative.
When it becomes a journal I will have our university subscribe to it.
I wonder if there will be versions in other languages.

To be honest I don't see translation happening. It takes a while to get it together as is and having it translated in its entirety will take too long.
However, if anyone wants to do so, they have my blessing.
Did I miss an announcment about the Open University? (5th paragraph in the the lead story by Martin) I was aware they were looking at Moodle but are they actually piloting/using Moodle to teach at the moment.
I'm keen to learn more as OU adoption would be very big news.
Have a look at: http://www.egovmonitor.com/node/3460.
More news about all this soon, but for now I have a slogan already:
"If it's good enough for OU, it's good enough for YOU!"

I'm hoping their sys admins will share their very busy server strategy... in some moodlemot events.
Big Big compliments for the newsletter!!!
Regards
Ludo
Jason Cole of Open University will be presenting at the Moodle Moot in Savannah, GA coming up in February. Though I can't speak for him directly, maybe he can be pursuaded to mention something about this.

Julian, great and interesting news about Moodle 1.6 and the Moodle CMS extension, and and ...
As a pull channel I propose a "Newsletter Sideblock" on moodle.org near the partners sideblocks (the growing promotion area in moodle.org promoting the newsletter. It should integrate a RSS feed with the table of contents. When I subscribe to the feed I stay informed about new issues.
A push channel is not necessary from my opinion. The newsletter will be so interesting and informative with it's short descriptions that all being interested will subscribe to not miss the new issues.
