Anyone using Moodle for 'Communities of Practise' type work?

Anyone using Moodle for 'Communities of Practise' type work?

I have been asked to try and find examples of Communities of practise discussion boards, and I thought it would be pretty cool if I could find a few moodle ones...
Essentially I think the concept is that of idea/knowledge sharing more peer-2-peer than 'elearning' from a 'community perspective'. (ref: http://www.ewenger.com/theory/)

Jay,

I started the one below last year on a phpBB discussion board and moved it to Moodle a few months ago. It's a "class" on my main Moodle site that is open to visitors....of course, only registered uses can participate. I have the site set to autologinguest and have put a link to this "class" on the main page of the site.
