Thank you for another informative response. I simply purged the cache and when this rebuilt it seemed to have resolved my issues, and XMLDB doesn't always seem to work for me (due to the setup of my development server configurations and whatnot, I think) - but thanks for the post I do appreciate it
Baring in mind that I already had the table changes in place as I didn't know that the schema was cached clearing the cache worked remarkably well as a recovery to a (in the "perspective" of the installation) was a questionable situation
