It's very useful to know what everyone would want to do with Blocks in their Moodle though! It's much more productive to design a good framework from scratch around known ideas than to adapt it to support new ones, so keep it coming!
This is something that we very much want and aim to do in Moodle! However, what you want to do is beyond the "simple hack" category for the moment. I 'm not sure how you could do it easily, it would definitely take careful programming. So for now I can't offer any help with that.
