I am running Moodle 2.9 and I want to restore a course from a previous backup. Now i have no idea whether the backups are actually happening, or if they are, whether its possible to restore it.
This is what I have done:
In site administration > courses > backups > automated backup setup I have:
1. enabled it, 2. scheduled it to every day, 3. executed at 3am, 4. Automated backup storage is set to Course backup file area, 5. save to (I have left this to the default 'empty', g. Keep '50'.
Now i'm wondering where on earth is it saving it???
in the server files, in every teachers course directory there is a folder labelled 'course backups' but they are empty. Have these automated backups actually been happening? If so, why are they not listed on the 'restore' page in teachers courses? Does this have something to do with the 'save to' field being left to empty?? I read that leaving this empty saves it to the course default dir. so then where are the backups?
Any help would be highly appreciated
