Topic Releases after specified timeframe after Enrolment

Halloo Me Harty's,

I hope you're all well. 

Question time (these communities are great!). Now I know Moodle can release content on a weekly basis, but that's based on a specified time. What I was wondering is if Moodle can release content to the enrolled student based on a time duration since that student enrolled (like through a rolling enrolment scenario). 

An example would be, I enrol in a course in Moodle, and then 7 days later, Moodle releases the next topic/content to me. After another 7 days, another topic is released so on and so forth.

The releases of content would be specific to the student, not to the course like you get on the 'weekly format' course format choice.

Hi Brodie Greig,

Not that I know of, but would be possible in a custom format based upon the format you use already - as visibility I think can be controlled by a date / time, therefore duration could be calculated from start date of course.... etc.

Thanks Gareth for your reply! We have a Moodle Developer who works with us here who should be able to do this but the question of whether or not we go ahead with custom work will have to be up to the client this time around. Thanks!

I would love to see something being developed with individual enrollment date for students and automatic unfolding of content based on a specified time, but I lack the ability to do the coding for this.

Hi Hartmut,

I really appreciate the response and yep, that's exactly what we're looking for. Yes, it would be excellent to have this capability in a future version of Moodle, but I guess for now, if our client would like it, we'll customise it. Having this in a future version of Moodle would not only improve the potential of the software, but would also reduce Moodle development costs for clients.
