The grade is changed to "0" only after a teacher has viewed the assignment and decided to save "no mark".
Normally the grades are not changed to 0.
As for me, if a student updates his submission, the "Edit" button changes to "Grade" (for the teacher), but all my previous comments and the grade retain until I regrade.
