I myself have a strong affection for cats, and being that I'm an IT kind of guy, I found the above picture (which I've titled "cattop") to be very appropriate for myself.
However, I've now come to the realization that there is a higher-than usual number of people on Moodle.org with a cat or cat-related image as their avatar. I did a search on cats on the whole site, and discovered a bit about CSU, but I wanted to know if it's more than just that.
Any insight into this would be most welcome!

Heres mine.
I have two cats. Two girls and a boy.
Whats that I hear you say?..thats three! But no, it is only two. One is a girl the other is a hermaphrdite. Can you belive I own a hermaphrodite cat. Created issues coming up with a name, not to mention the need to get spade AND neutered. Decided it was best for us and the cat that we designate it a he
Well, in that case, then I assume all of you know about this site (at least the cat-lovers amongst you):
www.ratemykitten.com
At least that puts me at ease that no violent "Cat-gang" was going to try to initiate me for infringing on their "gang symbol".
(Hey! I'm new to Moodle! I don't know what crazy things go on around here yet...)

Well, this is definitely the CUTEST Moodle discussion ever. I actually have been using a cat avatar for a "shill" student I have (who prompts discussions, etc.) for almost two years now. So, there must be something going on.
And since we are on that topic--what's with the orange clocks in the background???? I feel left out of some sort of secret orange clock society.

Yes, our 2 dogs make a racket and a mess
There was a theory a few years ago that the socialisation of dogs around people helped lead to the development of language anyone know anything about that?
We've also got 7 cats and it wouldn't suprise me if one or 2 had identities on moodle.org. They're much better at understanding us than they ever let on.

Let us not forget the little gems like this

Yes, pretty obvious there's a definite cat-orientation to those here. I'm with Martin, I'm more of a dog person. That said, my wife, and her 1...2, 3, 4, 5, 6!...cats have taught me to appreciate the feline species as well. She had one when we married, but took in a pregnant momma that had been abandoned at her folks farm two years ago, hence the additional 5.
I think my Mom said it best when she last visited..."that's a lot of cats".
Not as much fun as dogs if you enjoy the more physical, athletic side of the caretaker-pet relationship, but fun none-the-less...just in a different way.

Again, I have to raise an objection to what's been stated! : -D
With regards to the whole "physical, athletic" side of caretaking, this must be coming from someone who hasn't played cat-&-mouse with his kittens...but the kitten plays the role of the mouse...; )
And of course, what better activity is there for a cat than what follows from the appearance of a laser point? (but be careful of her eyes!)
No doubt, though, that a dog is much more of an outdoor pet.

Every time I come to this post Howard's kitty music video cracks me up.
Okay Helen, thanks, I guess now I'm an official member of the orange clock club.
By the way, I have a dog too, a little pomeranian--she gets beat up by the cat.
But this is even weirder, my daughter has this funny little long-haired mouse--and she picks on the cat!!!

Dogs can be stupid too.

Mimi, who adopted us.
She's quite good with computers, too, as the following clip proves. http://www.spday.info/clips/page4.html

Is it just me, or is Flickr's 'Interestingness' page producing some really interesting photos today: see http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/?
You all must see the infinite cat project, if you haven't already. This page is starting to become an infinite cat project of its own...
