The reason that the user details are missing is because you have a logo enabled on your site. Logos overwrite the header on each page and so information such as the course name, or user name are replaced with the logo.
When implementing the new header renderer for each page we were careful to make sure that we kept backwards capability such as logos remaining in the header. We also recognised that leaving the logo implemented as it currently is was problematic for detail to be shown about the page. We created the following issue in tracker to tackle this problem MDL-49536.
