been looking at some numbers/data for the MOOC.
It is notable that:
29% of participants classed themselves as complete beginners, while 49% had "some experience with
Moodle” and 3% classed themselves as very experienced users. When asked if they had used another
learning platform, 55% of participants said no and 45% said yes. Of those who said yes, 41% had
experience of Blackboard. I can't help but think that this does not tally with too many experienced moodlers infiltrating the forums (being disruptive @3%)...could be wrong.
Learn Moodle participant badge 2013 Awarded to people who participated in the course by posting in
ANY of the 5 forums in the course 3,236 % of total enrolled 34%not even half? Does this say something about facilitating and impact? Or not enough facilitators to support and nurture forum engagement?
just some thoughts.
