I've come across this article today: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/parents-risk-lives-climbing-exam-buildings-to-help-hundreds-of-indian-students-cheat-10120933.html

At first I was shocked, then astonished and now I feel a little sad that these are the risks that parents have to go to.  But above all of that it makes you realise how important education really is.

This is a major disagreement between Ango-Saxons and Indianoids, between head and stomach, between rationalism and "it'll be O.K.".

The deeper problem could be though:
"The students who feel they have the right to cheat"

Hmm... despite incidences like this, India is a wealth of human resources that has blessed the world many times over with many great minds. Many who gained that position through merit and not through cheating. Scientists, Computer Scientists, entrepreneurs, etc. The recent India Mars mission is a case in point: http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-29341850
